Travel Agency License
A travel agency license is required in order to conduct business as a travel agent in Singapore. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is the government body responsible for issuing travel agent licenses.
There are two types of travel agent licenses in Singapore:
General License: This license permits the holder to conduct any activities of a travel agent, including selling airline tickets, arranging tours, and booking hotels. To qualify for a general license, the business must have a minimum paid-up capital of S$100,000.
Niche License: This license permits the holder to sell travel packages within Singapore, but does not allow them to book accommodation. To qualify for a niche license, the business must have a minimum paid-up capital of S$50,000.
Here are the steps involved in applying for a travel agency license in Singapore:
Register your business with the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
Meet the minimum financial requirements.
Open a corporate bank account.
Set up an email address for your business.
Appoint a Key Executive who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business.
Submit an application online via the Travel Agents and Tourist Guides Licensing System (TRUST).
Pay an application fee of S$200.
Once your application has been approved, you will need to pay a license fee of S$400. Your travel agency will then be listed in the Travel Agent Directory of TRUST.
